Chicago wedding photographer going to Indiana
They say good things come to those who wait. That was definitely the case for Lilly and Raymond, a lovely couple who were married last summer, but finally were able to celebrate with friends and family on July 3, 2021! After 8 years together, this Illinois couple cherished the day they’d have their future wedding. As we all know, it’s been the most unpredictable year for COVID brides, so with the company of their loved ones, a vow renewal and delayed reception was in order!
If you’re on the hunt for a rustic barn wedding venue near Chicago, the County Lane Orchard is the way to go! I got to be a traveling photographer for the day, hopping over state lines to Hobart, Indiana for the celebration. This sweet couple had a charming, outdoor vow renewal ceremony beneath an oak tree with the prettiest arch of mixed flowers – not to mention, the most romantic reception in the woody barn!
The gorgeous bride paid tribute to the original day they were married by recreating her bouquet to be even more beautiful this time around. Lilly’s wedding dress had pockets – I personally think that should be the law! Raymond was decked out in his custom tailored suit looking sharp with his party.
As a Chicago wedding photographer, I have seen many wedding days have their ups and downs. After the bride got ready in the barn, we rode a trolley to the ceremony site and her veil somehow detached and flew away… I tried to look for it without luck afterwards, since I know every detail counts to the bride! Eliminating stress any way I can as a wedding photographer is one small part about my job that can make a difference in a couple’s day. Amazingly, Lilly’s mom found it right before I was about to leave for the night, so we were able to capture photos of the couple together with the veil on!
In all, everything worked out for this patient couple who finally got their dream day with loved ones and I had a great time outside of doing my usual Naperville wedding photography!
